is the battery made to fit the bug? if your batter is to tall and you put the back seat in and someone sits on it they could touch the springs to the terminals and create a fire under your back seat...
I just completed this project and I would advise taking it to the dealer because finding a replacement battery the same size is almost impossible. The dealer should replace the battery at no charge...

FIRST!! Make sure you use an alternate power source before ever disconnecting the battery on any VW that has a built in security system. If you don't you will experience lots of grief that is...
