Occasionally when you give your chao the bat small animal it will lose it's legs or actually they are invisible!! To make them reappear give your chao the Skeleton Dog small animal they can be found mostly in pumpkin hill.

Give the chao any animal other than a bat, although ones that don't give them legs as a feature don't tend to work. If you then want your chao to get it's normal legs back rather than the animal feature ones, give them skeleton dogs until they disappear and are replaced with it's normal legs.
