I have a 98 sport Cherokee and when I put a 800 cca battery in it, it was taller, but I wanted to make it fit. We had to bend the hood latch wire that was hitting the corner of battery out of the way slightly in order for the latch to grap and lock, took a while to achieve this but it has worked 100% since. Badgirl.

AnswerNow that I look at the underside of hood, we also took a hammer to the underside of hood over the battery. Hmmmm. Badgirl.

What is an electronic latch?

An electronic latch is a simple bi-stable state-holding circuit. That means it has two stable "states", kind of like a light switch (ON and OFF). Once the latch is switched ON, it will stay there until it is switched OFF or until power is lost, and vice-versa. Latches can be built in a variety of ways, but the most commonly studied latch is the S-R latch made with NAND or NOR gates. In this latch, "SET" is the name of one state, and "RESET" is the other state: http://www.play-hookey.com/digital/rs_nand_latch.html Latches can be used to build memory circuits in digital systems. There are millions of latch circuits in a computer system.

How to get the top down?

there are two latches one located on the driver side and the other on the passenger side. Both latches can be seen from inside the care at the very corners of the inside roof. Pull down on one latch and unfasten (lift) the hook, then move over and do the same on the other side. Make sure both hooks are unfastened. Once this is done, from outside the care its merely a matter of lifting the top up and pushing it backwards until it all folds back behind the rear seats. At this point, the latches should be very visible and upright, press down on them.

What do you mean by latch?

In electronics, a flip-flop or latch is a circuit that has two stable states and can be used to store state information. The circuit can be made to change state by signals applied to one or more control inputs and will have one or two outputs. Flip-flops and latches are a fundamental building block of digital electronics systems used in computers, communications, and many other types of systems.

On a Volvo S70 how can you repair a door that will not close properly - it does not latch completely?

Hello, On your typical situation you want to find out for sure if its the door latch. If so a replacement can be purchased on eBay for around 30-40 dollars. A common problem for the Volvo 850 S70 Series is the latch becomes in operate able and the only fix is a new or used latch/lock. But be sure to diagnose it correctly as the latch as it could also be the other things as well such as loose or unaligned latch or something obstructing the closer of the door.

How do you change a headlight bulb on a 2002 Chevy Tracker.?

on the right and left hand side of the headlight assembly is a latch that you pull up, once both latches are up you can remove the assebly and change the light. do not touch the adjusters behind these latches (they take Allen wrenches or sockets), if you do you'll mess up the headlights calibration, i learned this the hard way unfortunately and now one headlight is higher than the other, and the plastic screw is stripped and wont adjust.

How do you fix a stuck glove compartment latch on a 1992 jeep cherokee lardeo?

If broke you probably will need to use a screw driver to break it open and replace. I don't know any other way in without breaking the lock.

Why won't my tailgate window close It just happened to other day it is a jeep liberty sport 2002.?

Not a hundred percent sure, but it is likely that your door latch didn't unlatch the window when it opened, thus not allowing the window to re-latch when it closes. Check the latch and make sure that it is opening the window latch when you open the door. I have a 2006 liberty that's what happened on mine. Not sure if the 2002 is the same as the 2006, but its a good start

Pontiac grand prix door will not latch?

The Pontiac Grand Prix door latch has adjustments to move the latch up and down and in and out. Loosen the adjustment screws. Keep moving the latch in one direction or the other, until the door catches the latch.

How do you fix a broken door latch on a 2000 Grand Am- door will not close?

Pull the handle, either inside or out, with the door unlocked. Then use a screwdriver or other implement to pull the jaws of the latch assembly back open. Don't use your fingers since those things are strong and if the kick back it can cut or bruise you. It's also pretty oily/dirty in there. If the latch is truly broken, you'll need to disassemble the door and replace the latch assembly.

What is a latch in microprocessor?

A latch is a type of flip-flop circuit that is used to store digital information in a microprocessor or other digital system. A latch is essentially a digital memory element that can hold a single bit of information (i.e. a "1" or "0"). Latches can be used to store data that needs to be held temporarily, such as the current state of a program, or to create a temporary buffer for data that is being moved between different parts of a system.
