You fix discs by using a kit with a series of abrasives, from course to light, to wear down scratches - step by step - to a smooth finish. Professional systems use multiple abrasives, consisting of different hardness and shapes (sharp to smooth). Regardless of product or system used, the key is to use a series of abrasives (more than one stage) to gradually bring the plastic back to a polished surface. If you want to remove all scratches on your disc, take a look at the 5-stage Scratch Pro repair kit. It will bring the disc back to its original shine and you will have a kit on hand to fix the next disc. Also do a search for scratch repair to see what is out there in your area. To do a targeted search, use the + sign in front of the search words +disc +scratch +repair
Keep in mind that the new PS3 games have a scratch protective coating and you will not want to use abrasives on them.
You can try spraying the disc with furniture polish then wiping it off real good and see if that will fill in the scratches.
It's probably impossible to remove the scratches off a PS2 disc. I suggest you wet the
disc (not on the side with words and color on it) under a sink,if there's water on the colored side,it won't affect the game, and then dry it with a towel or a dry, clean piece of cloth. You may have to repeat this several times.
You replace the scratched game with a working game. Why would you think some cleaner could remove scratches. Most of the time professional polishing machines can not restore a bad disc. Toothpaste and other solutions are much more likely to result in damage of your system from the foreign partials that are not removed during restoration attempts than to fix the broken disc.
Try the toothpaste trick,if that doesn't work spray computer cleaner on it or windex,if that does not work then use that car buff spray and your game will be up and running in no time.
It is best to just replace the scratched game. Toothpaste and other home remedies may work or the surface can be professionally cleaned and polished, but neither is as effective as Game replacement. The price of a new or like new and excellent condition used games call be found on Glyde, Ebay and Amazon.com as well as many other sites. There are over 1.5 billion copies of PS2 games that have been sold and the market is flooded with many different used PS2 games
The best fix i have found is to buy some special disk cleaner:
Or, if you don't want to spend money, run it under cold normal tap water (the back side of the disk), and then dry it with a 100% cotton rag.
if it is light scatches put the disk in the freezer over nyt then wip it with a soft cloth, only works if the scratches are light it wont work if the scratches are deep
well i heard if its light scratches u can put it in the freezer over night then clean it off with A SOFT CLOTH in the morning. :D hope this helps u out!
Most home remedies do not work. The game is damaged and there is little except a professional polishing that can help and that is not guaranteed
You replace it with a new game
you go to your local game rental store and u rent the game that u want to fix and replace it with the messed up game and take that game back
When I was prompted for a format disk on ps2, I went to game stop to buy the disk. They said a disk was not available - the game was simply too scratched to play.
The game disc could be scratched Amazon has a new disc for only $8.68
when you turn on your ps2 a screen will pop up that says you to puss x when you push x it will load the game and if not either your connection is bad or your disc is scratched.
By replacing it, you can watch all the YouTube videos you want they will not tell you how to fix your disc to work trouble free. Instead just replace it with many of the huge surplus of PS2 games already out
You replace it with a new game or you purchase another used game disc
you go to your local game rental store and u rent the game that u want to fix and replace it with the messed up game and take that game back
Software will not fix an unreadable disc because it is scratched. PS2 game Discs are not rewriteable and can not be changed so there would be nothing for the software to fix on the disc unless it was a bootleg copy
Often the game disc is scratched and damaged
no they just will not play well
It should if you have the PS2 game and it is not scratched or otherwise unable to play and your PS2 is working
They say it will. but I have my doubt's.
PS2 are on DVD discs if that is what you mean. Badly scratched Game disc can make the PS2 not know the format, but it is just a bad disc

You must be using the actual PS2 version. If you use a Wii or Xbox version, it will definitely not work. The PS2 is a very old console, and it is likely that your disc is scratched. You can follow these instructions on cleaning your disc if it needs it. I hope that helped.
It is best to just replace the game
PS2 use DVD and not CDs, but being scratched only stops them from playing
