An unsupported file is a file your computer can't use. Depending on the file a fix can be just installing a codec to buying and installing a program for the file. This codec pack will handle just about any multimedia file you can throw at it: http://www.cccp-project.net/, you can also try downloading a new media player. Foobar2000 is good for audio, Winamp is good for both audio/streaming(handels video decently, it can play swf files if you have flash installed in internet Explorer, a big plus if you ask me), and Mplayer/Smplayer(with the mplayer codec pack) will handle any multimedia file you throw at it(except some rare, obscure format). As for non-media files, you will have to find what program it belongs to and download, and install the program required for it to be supported. A great site to find out what files belong to what programs is located here: http://www.fileinfo.net/ Take the extension(letters/numbers after the last dot and put it in the search box at the top left of the site)

Right click the file and choose get info. If that doesn't solve the problem it's either due to a file permission problem or a file format problem. Check if your user is the owner of the file and if the file format is supported by iTunes. If not you will have to convert it to a supported format.

How do you download on a PSP?

A PSP uses very a very specific file download system and to do this you need to make sure it is a supported file. If you know that it is a supported file, make sure you have the most recent firmware (v5.02) then go to your Internet Browser and find the website that has your download and click the download link... Your PSP should ask you what to do with the download, Select save file and wait for the file to download... Once it is done, go to where you downloaded it on your home screen and open the file. If it says "Cannot open Currupted File" this means it is an unsupported file. (To get the new firmware update go to: Home >Settings >Network update.) You need a wireless internet connection to do this.
