The first thing you need to do to freeze strawberries is to blanch them. You do this by placing them in boiling water for about 10 seconds. Then make sure the strawberries are dry before placing them in a freezer bag.
Slice the strawberries very thin, put on a drying rack (like a cookie drying rack) and put in the freezer. According to the directions I have found online, it should take a week to 2 weeks for the fruit to be completely freeze dried. To test it out, take one piece out and let thaw, if it turns black it's not ready yet.
I take them as they ripen and throw them in a ziplock bag and freeze them immediately. They thaw easily for shakes and eating them whole, just wash them first.
Just pop it in the freezer and take when it is icy.
leave in sun on sink for about 30 Min's to 2 hours hope it helps
keep in freezer
Yes, you can safely freeze strawberries.
The water has to freeze before the strawberries freeze. By the time the water freezes, it is morning. The same is done in citrus groves.
That would depend on the water content of the fresh strawberries and the water content of the dried strawberries.
company calories in 6 strawberries
Yes, but when they defrost they will be all mushy so you have to use them in things that are OK if the strawberries are mushy (e.g. Ice Cream).
yes
Because they DO have such a high water content.
Because they freeze really fast. When the strawberry is slowly frozen the inside of the strawberry will not freeze as quickly and could still rot in the proces of freezing.
I don"t think you should do that. My opinion would be to stick the chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge and let it get cold.
The possessive form for the plural noun strawberries is strawberries'.Example: The strawberries' price is too high.
I pick strawberries every June and freeze enough to last until the next year. So in answer to your question, frozen strawberries will last about a year in the freezer, maybe longer ( though the "pro's" say less, so that you will toss it away and buy more . . . ) When you freeze strawberries, wash them and remove the caps. If they are very large, you can cut them in half. I fill a large zip-loc full of washed berries, then add about a cup of sugar, roll it around to distribute the sugar, then remove as much air as I can ( a vacuum sealer would be WONDERFUL ) and freeze them. Since I am not too fond of sugar, when I am ready to use the strawberries ( 1/2 Cup in a smootie every morning ) I rinse the sugar off them. Good Luck !
