For my familytree i have needed some certificates from Germany. The easyiest way for me was www.standesamtauskunft.de

If you were born of American parents it may be possible to get this info from the Dept. of State. A form needs to be filled out (of Course) American Child born abroad. Its been some years but hope this works.
