Your parents or legal guardians can request one for you. As a minor, you can't get one yourself as you don't have the legal authority to accept the contract terms.

Can you get a credit card at age 13?

No, they can't accept that their parents or one of them authorize that they can, and if they do they need to really check that their son or daughter is responsible enough for a credit card. A minor may be able to use an adult's credit card if the credit card owner has officially authorized the minor to use it.

Can a child be obligated to pay a parents' credit card debt when they are of legal age if they were assigned a card as a minor?

no

Is it legal for a credit company to issue a credit card to a minor without an adult cosigning in Wisconsin?

They can issue it, but they have no recourse in collecting on it if the minor doesn't pay. However if fake (fraudulent) information was used to obtain the card the minor could face criminal charges.

If you are under eighteen and have a credit card are you liable for not paying and what will happen to your credit score when you do turn eighteen?

A better question is how a minor got a credit card? If the card was obtained under false pretense then the debt is valid and the person holding the card will be responsible for repayment whether or not they are a minor. It's doubtful the information would be included on any future credit report, but not impossible if the debt were to become an issue to be decided by a court.

If I am 14 years old can you apply for a credit card in the US?

A credit card requires a contract. Contracts can not be executed with a minor (someone under 18). So you would need a parent or guardian to be a co-applicant or guarantor if you want a credit card.

Modification to question... If your mother-in-law created a credit card account in your wife's name when she was a minor with the mother-in-law as a co-signer, and your wife did not use the card but the mother-in-law did, who is responsible for the balance?

Where can i Get a credit card at 17 years old?

No one in their right mind will give you a credit card if you are a 17 year old. It is against the law for a minor to enter into a legal contract or agreement, such as a credit card agreement.that is true you have to be atleast 21 and you have to have some kind of job

Can you have a credit card at age 13?

A minor cannot enter into a legal contract so cannot have their own credit card account. The only way that a 13 year old can get a card is as an additional cardholder attached to his or her parent's or other adults account. Since the adult is responsible for payment they can attach a minor to the account.

Are parents legally responsible for child's credit card debt?

If the parents are the primary card holders and let the child use the card, yes. If the child is a minor, yes. If the parents are a co-signer for the account, yes. If the child is over 18 and the credit card is their own, no.

Can a teenager under 18 use a parent's credit card if they are authorized to?

NO. The credit card company won't allow that to happen. It is illegal for ANYONE who is not the card holder, named on the card, to sign for goods purchased with the card. Expanding on the above answer: A minor may be able to use an adult's credit card if the credit card owner has officially authorized the minor to use it. This would require the adult to contact the credit card company to document the minor as an authorized user, because rules/regulations vary by company. Without this formal step, the first response holds true: it would be illegal.
