Most states require that you have a sponsoring company that will appoint you once you have secured a limited lines travel insurance license. Therefore you're better off to call one of the travel insurance companies and ask them for their requirements and their assistance to begin the licensing process. In most states the travel insurance license is considered a limited lines license and if you meet certain requirements you can be exempt from educational requirements.
