You can seek out legal counsel and have them stopped or you can report them to the police. Not paying child support is breaking the law (the court ordered it) and there, men or women that slack off on child support can be jailed for breaking this law. Marcy
Only when owing more than $5000
A US state civil court cannot enforce a child support order in another country. However, as of October, 2006 any US citizen owing $2500 in child support arrearages will be denied a passport to enter or leave the US. http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/childsupport/ read it you can enforce it in Canada because we have reciprocal agreements. I am in the process of doing this you just need to contact the child enforcement office in your state or county.
If the other parent will not consent to the passport and trip then the custodial parent could seek a court order allowing the same.
No. If you owe anything outstanding, even if you are currently paying you will be denied. My fiancee was denied a passport recently. He currently pays $1,500 a month in child support for four children. A lot of this is for back child support that he is trying to catch up on. Even though he has been making these payments for over 5 years, he was still denied a passport. We also didn't get back our application fee, so don't bother.
Yes. The passport can be revoked or limited, if you owe a certain amount of unpaid child support.
Owing excess child support does not invalidate a passport. That doesn't mean you can't be prevented from the leaving the country.

Yes, if the past-due amount does not exceed $2,500.
Passports can be suspended/denied if the amount of arrears exceeds the appropriate threshold, regardless of the child's current age.
As a passport is now required, if you're over $5000 in arrears, a passport is canceled.Actually you don't need a passport to enter Canada only to get back into the U.S. But I don't know if a child support conviction is grounds for inadmissability. Seeing that child support is not a criminal offence in Canada
