Its depends on the person, but it shouldn't get too swollen, and it goes down after a few days.
You would have a swollen lip, a possible abscess and nothing to show for it.
Stop touching it so it can heal.
Swelling with any lip piercing is normal and to be expected, it's nothing new or frightening, just maintain the piercing and the swelling will ease over time.
you will lose alot of blood.and lip will become swollen and infected.
Red swollen hot may or may not have blisters
I have a lip piercing and play trumpet... While healing, yes especially when its still swollen but after the piercing is fully healed it doesn't affect at all...its as if its not even there!
For the basic oral piercings, ie. lip piercing, monroe, labret etc etc; the swelling begins to go down after a few days. Since the cartilage for a dimple piercing is much thicker than that of a lip piercing, the swelling will take a little bit longer to go down. Usually 3-10 days before the swelling begins to go down, depending on how much you play with the jewelery, irritate the piercing, and even how you clean it can all alter the amount of time your piercing is swollen for!

Anywhere from 2-4 weeks. It will probably go down in about 2 weeks but it'll swell up if you hit or or something like that.
Lip piercings if you are following your written aftercare to the letter, should show a decrease in swelling by the two week time period.
