If, in the best interest of the service, the individual may be commissioned into another branch of the military providing there is another individual who is trying to get into that branch of the military. It is a recriprocal commissioning, one of theirs for one of ours. If you really want to be a Marine Officer via the service academy route the thing to do is to go to The US Naval Academy and opt for the Corps during your senior year.
