Yes this can be dangerous. It may be that the heat exchanger of your furnace is cracked and allowing carbon monoxide fumes in your house. Call a tech! Carbon monoxide is an odorless gas, you wouldn't be able to smell it. Install a carbon monoxide detector so you will know.
The gas will be darker and have a different smell
Check your vent pipe. Does it vent to the outside? If so, is it blocked? Is the vent pipe breached? The vent is the most likely cause.
Yes anti freeze has a sweet smell, at least in comparison to the normal fuel and oil smells of a car
if the oil smells like gs, this means that your fuel system ,usually the carburettor, is leaking fuel into the block, take it to a mechanic
Diesel fuel smells the same as home heating oil.
A fuel smell inside a house should be ventilated immediately. Open doors and windows and allow this to air out. Scrub the area with a mild soap and hot water to diminish the fuel left on the floor.

Have used both on the samesystem with no negative effects.
u can use diesel fuel but why would you? heating oil has no tax and is so much cheaper than road fuel
Smell the oil, if smells like some gas is in it. then it would be ur fuel pressure regulator.
It might be coolant, oil burning or too rich of fuel air mixture
