How do you get high off of catnip?

Catnip can be used in various ways as a treat to your cat. Primarily; the cat will eat it. They also sniff, roll, and play on or with whatever the catnip has touched. You can give your cat about a tablespoon or more on whatever surface you would like; the floor, toys, scratchers, and beds; a paper bag can be fun too. Catnip is a great help to break in new cat accessories. Catnip is most potent fresh and will release it's scent more if you hold it in your hand first to make it warm. Sprinkle wherever and watch your cat enjoy tons of fun. Also, catnip will only last from 20-30 minutes and will only be effective once every two hours.

As often as you like. Neither too much nor too little will hurt them. It's not like a medication that you need to give them from time to time. They won't suffer if you never give it to them. If you give it to them too often, it may lose its effect (they won't get excited by it, or "high"on it, or whatever it does to them), but too much won't hurt them.

I have several catnip toys around my home, and the cats play with them whenever they have the inclination to. Most of the time, they walk right by the toys and pay no attention to them. Other times, they walk by and get excited by the toys and start playing.

You should dry the leaves and then crumble it into little pieces. Then you can do whatever you want with it. Sticking it onto a tennis ball or inside a paper ball is a great way for your cat to have fun :)
