Usually mold will leave a dark or green mark and it's difficult to get out. When this has happened to me I have to basically chuck the item out. If it's not dark/green and your curtains are white or beige try a little bleach, but don't leave it in the bleach (DILUTED BY SOME WATER) for more than 2 minutes at a time.
