Hide something he loves, ask him if you can look at it the next day. Make sure he hasn't used it recently. Dont hide something like his xbox, hide something small like his iPod, phone, or PSP. If you hide the phone, make sure it is turned off, so he cant call it from another phone to hear the ring and find it. When he cant find it, say you will look for it, and if you find it, he can give you like 5 bucks. Its not alot, but its some. Good luck!
