Ways to increase horsepower of a Ford Ranger:
- Upgrade air filter. i actually got rid of the stock system all together and put an aluminum down pipe to pull air from under the truck, similar to a cold air intake.
- Swap the fan for an electric. kind of a tricky and frustrating process, but frees up a few horses. done properly you could even boost your mileage a bit! i recommend doing this FIRST if you are going to upgrade the intake.
- Exhaust system upgrade, more costly but the biggest improvement. Upgrade the headers, the cat and muffler. the more efficiently you can move the exhaust from the engine, the better!
- As always, keep up on your oil and spark plug changes.
