Even though some people like clover, it's still a weed. A good herbicide applied correctly will kill clover. Read the label to make sure clover is listed. It's tougher to kill than some other weeds. Apply with a Hudson type sprayer on a day with no wind. Try a find a time when there is no dew. Apply with a mist or very small droplets as they will stay on the weed better. You could reapply after 10 days for a better kill. Hope this helps.
Make sure the herbicide is a selective herbicide as non selective herbicides will kill everything including the grass.

∙ 14y agoPut down 10 to 20 pounds of Corn Gluten Meal over the area where the clover is growing. Corn Gluten Meal is a natural suppressant for seed germination. It won't hurt the environment or you and it will add about 10% nitrogen to the grass, which is about all it needs.
However; it takes a bit longer to work, and you need to apply it twice a year. The best time to apply is in March then again in early September. You can buy corn gluten meal at your local feed store.
Skip the Scotts it's way to high in nitrogen, unless you like to mow the yard twice a week and use twice as much water. Mow your lawn higher, about 3 inches, you want the grass to out compet the clover so help it by not cutting it short. Clover is tough to get rid of, but over time you can win with out the use of chemicals.
