Formatting your hard drive is a big job and you have to re install everything. Unless you have everything backed up on CDs or DVDs you will lost any pictures of other personal files you have.

Reinstalling Windows will not remove a virus.

Do this - Download AVG anti Virus free here -

Run it and it will remove your virus and will defend you from future viruses.

Then after AVG is done download Microsoft Defender free here -

Run Windows defender and it will stay active every time you boot watching for malware.

You will be so much better off then if you formatted your drive and you will be protected against future attacks.

Follow the instructions in the link below and a trained analyst will check your logs, help you sort it out for free and give you advice on keeping your computer clean in the future

If you cannot complete any of the steps, let the analyst know and he will advise you what to do next.
