∙ 14y agoFirst, i open local security policy and disable administator account status. And then i restart my computer and i can log in my computer. You would need to know ALL changes made by the virus and be able to restart the OS into a "Safe" mode so that you could change those things; very dependent on the virus in question. Please note that there are free virus software's out there that are very good for this, and save you a lot of work.

∙ 14y agoWhen your computer is running well, use task manager and make a record of all the processes running. If your computer starts running bad, compare the lists and find whats different. What is different that you don't recognize is probably the virus. Hope this helps.

∙ 11y agoManually removing viruses without an antivirus program is a very risky path to take. Inexperienced users might accidentally cause more harm than good to their computer when trying to remove a virus themselves. Because viruses take root in a "host" file in order to reproduce, deleting the virus can also delete the host file. Just let your antivirus program take care of keeping your system virus free.

∙ 11y agoIt would be very difficult to delete a virus without software -
Viruses usually hide themselves away on a computer in order to prevent users from being able to remove them. What you can almost certainly do is identify any programs which are running on your machine and try to stop the programs from running, but viruses usually prevent this too.
In the past I have found "malware" (not viruses) running on machines, and I have been able to remove the offending software by a) rebooting the machine into "Safe Mode" and b) using a restore point to remove the software from the registry etc.
You will still need to identify the files in use by the software and remove them from the machine.
