If the mouse died on a nonstainable surface, I usually use pure bleach to clean it up. Cleaning the spot where the mouse died is generally the best way. Other methods include, using a fabric refresher like Febreze, especially in a hard to clean area. If there is blood in a fabric or carpet hydrogen peroxide can be used to remove the blood and a good amount of the smell. Caution: hydrogen peroxide can discolor some carpets and fabrics and should be tested on a small inconspicuous piece.

If the rodent has died somewhere that you cannot find (such as under floorboards or in an air duct), get some white vinegar, fill a number of cups and place them in the areas that smell the strongest. The vinegar seems to cover up the smell of decay pretty well, but it does need refreshing every other day until the rotten rat smell has gone!

BLEACH!! Lots of bleach. Answer If the mouse is in the wall, you would need to remove it first. If it is in a cage, clean both the cage and the surrounding area with a good cleaning fluid (ie.hot water and ammonia, Mr. Clean, Pinesol), rinse and then wash off with a bleach solution. Regular cleaning of the cage and surrounds will help reduce the smell. A standing bowl of white vinegar in the room may also help absorb the odor.

Usually people buy cheap scented perfumes or a strong smell to cover it up, but if you want to get rid of it, unbelievably, you can use milk!

Plain milk, bought from your local grocery shop, can fight away the strong smell of rotting mice. The area of the smell can be cured by lightly pouring pure milk onto the carpet or floor near the smell.

The milk will not stain but will be absorbed through the air and the rotting mice corps will attract the milk and evaporate. At the same time as stopping the smell, it will also increase the rotting process and the corpse will disappear quicker.

This will not harm humans or animals and no cleaning up necessary, after just 15 minutes of pouring the milk on the floor, it will disappear and be gone, no stains or smell remaining!

How do you get rid of dead mouse odor?

You can remove dead mouse odors from your clothes dryer by sourcing the dead mouse and removing it. Make sure that you use gloves when doing so. The bad smell is likely to stay for some time afterwards so it is a good idea to clean the vent system and the front and rear panels with white vinegar. Also clean the lint trap by spraying white vinegar on it, rinse well and dry before returning it to the dryer.

How do you get rid of a dead mouse odor?

First find the dead mouse and get rid of it. If it met its end on carpet use deodorizing carpet foam cleaner, if the end was met on a hard surface spray a disinfectant cleaner such a Lysol over the area. And if the rodent cannot be found there is not a lot a body can do but put a deodorizer in the room. If the rodent is located between walls, you will need someone to locate it and replace the dry wall. An enzyme spray might also help in areas you cannot replace. Another option for those that cannot find their dead rodent is to use an ozone generator to destroy the odor in the air until the mouse has decayed and no longer stinks. Ozone will actually react with the molecules in the air that are the source of the offensive odor, turning them into particles that won't bother our human noses. Such ozone generators can be rented, and in this instance will need to be run several times (or continuously at low levels) until the mouse decays. Google "ozone generator rentals" to find a company that can help you out!
