Its simple : take care of it properly. Piercing bumps, more technically called Hypertrophic Scarring, are caused by excessive irritation to the piercing. This irritation can come from overcleaning, overusing salt water, playing with the jewelry constantly, excessively changing the jewelry, etc. To get rid of the bump, you have to get rid of the irritation. For the outer lip part of the piercing, clean it once a day with antibacterial (Dial) soap...not more than that. For the inner lip, rinse with mouthwash twice a day (when you brush your teeth in the morning and at night). Do not overuse the mouthwash; it can severely dry out your mouth. I would recommend to not use salt water at all; it is very drying and irritating to the piercing and the skin around it. It can cause dryness, itchiness and flakiness. If you still feel you must use it, never use it more than once a day. Do not touch the jewelry unless it is to clean it, and even then, make sure your hands are washed first. Dirty hands spread bacteria. Pick one piece of jewelry and stick with it. Constantly changing the jewelry will cause moderate to severe irritation. Good luck!

you should try H2Ocean spray, i have a little bump on my industrial and it shrak. but didnt fully go away. sry im looking for the answer to.

If it's been there for a while, what i did is heat up a needle on a flame for like ten seconds. Then let it cool and don't touch it. Once you think it's cool enough, poke the bump on your piercing and make it bleed or ooze clear liquid. It will scab over and leave it alone from there. Or if you're like me and you pick scabs do that. after the scab heals, it will have shrank. My bottom one is completely gone, but my top one is. I know this all sounds gross, but it really helped me.

Quit using what ever you are using on the piercing for cleaning it, that is what is causing the bumps, flush the piercing twice a day with water only and don't use anything on the piercing other than water. It will take a few days but the bumps will go down.

The best way to get rid of piercing bumps which worked for me is as follows:

You just need to get sea salt and tea tree oil then mix them in the same proportion and apply it to the bump. Leave it overnight with a band-aid. Repeat it unit the bump goes away.

It would take a while but this works wonders.

How do I get rid of bumps next to cartilage piercings?

Well getting rid of the bumps involves understanding how they got there in the first place. If the piercing was done with a piercing gun, then there's your culprit. See ear cartilage piercings done with a piercing gun (which they are not supposed to do but they do it any way) damages the fine tissue* (*perichondrium ) between the cartilage and the back skin of the ear cartilage, this tearing action pulls the layer away from the cartilage and thus the lump is formed.Often referred to as Cauliflower Ear, this is the damage done to the ear cartilage when boxers would not wear protective head gear and the gloves would contact the ear cartilage skin tearing it free from the cartilage damaging the perichondrium in the process.Removing ear studs and replacing the studs with captive bead rings and irrigating the piercings daily during showering has allowed the tissue to settle and in some cases reattach to the cartilage, this can take several weeks to notice a marked change in the lumps.Another cause for lumps on ear cartilage is a process call a "Hypertrophic Reaction". This is where a irritant is introduced into the piercing causing the tissue to swell up and form a lump next to the piercing. Generally due to over use of a cleaning produce used to clean the piercing, the over use causes this reaction to occur. Simple flushing of the piercing with warm running water daily during showering while moving the jewellery has been very successful in removing the irritant and the bumps diminishing in size over several weeks.

How do you get rid of the nubs of the teared belly piercing?

Well first you stop using what ever it is you are using to clean the piercing, what ever you have been using is causing the bumps or nubs as you call them to appear. Irrigate the piercing under warm running water in the shower and leave it alone, within a few days the piercing should start to get better. By the way it's a navel piercing not a belly piercing.
