How do you get rid of someone that likes you when you dont feel the same way?

Let the person down easy... say something like I'm sorry, but i don't feel the same way that u feel about me... i really wanna stay friends though' and walk away.
If that person doesn't leave you alone than Im sorry but you have to choices.
- 1) You can just tell him or her that you just don't want to talk to him.
- 2) You can just ignore him until he stops. That has happened to me. one time there was this guy that asked me out but i didn't feel the same way. so i said, that i see him as a brother. well guess what that didn't really work out so well. when i rejected him, i taught that he will leave me alone. but he didn't leave me alone. he texts me everyday. at first we would have a normal conversation like oh how u doing and stuff like that. but then he was begging me to go out with him. he even told me he loved me. it sorta hurts to tell someone you don't love them back. so i had to tell him the real truth. i told him i don't love him and that don't see him as a brother i just see him as a friend. i tried to tell him in a nice way and it worked. now everything is normal. of course he felt bad but now we are just friends.
I generally find it easier to tell them straight out but in a nice way ... its horrible to be led on just because you cant find the words to tell them you dont like them anymore. It will hurt them alot at first but in the long run your doing them a favour.
