the back part on most ipods usually get scratched the most if u dont use a cover and most of them are metallic except the new nano and shuffle so if u want the back metallic section shiny again u have to find a business that can buff the scratches off. I dont know about scratches on the plastic colored parts though.

If you have been experiencing problems with scratches on your TV or computer screen, then I will help you by giving you a few effective tips.
1. To remove scratches from computer or TV screens you will need a soft cloth dipped in diluted isopropyl alcohol. Use to treat the affected areas then cover with petroleum jelly. The last one will fill the scratch and hide it.
2. Put some petroleum jelly onto a cotton ball. Use to rub the affected surface everyday. Do this regularly and the scratch will disappear when it is covered up completely.
3. Pencil eraser is another thing that you can use to get rid of scratches on TV and computer screens. Clean the scratches, without applying too much pressure by rubbing the eraser on the problematic surface until you get the desired results. You should pay extra attention while applying this tip, because pencil erasers may leave marks on the surface.
4. Rub a small amount of white toothpaste with your finger on the scratch for about 20 minutes. Then take a clean, soft cloth dipped in distilled water and use to clean the scratch. Using this method, you will be able to get rid of scratches on computer/TV screens immediately.
Well if you give your finger a lick and wipe it over the scratch then softly wipe the scratch with a SOFT (NON SCRATCH MATERIAL) then that should make the scratch not show up as much.
you should get some brasso and get a rag and put the brasso on the rag and go in a circular motion oh yeah you buy the Brasso in Home Depot
you really can't
you cant

Both of these have benefits and losses. I know that the white MacBook's show every little mark that you make, but they don't show scratches. Aluminum MacBook's are apparently very good but show up lots of scratches.
