If you really want to do a good job with it. You must sand the top of the table down with an electric sander or hand sand it if you don't have one.

The you can match the varnish at the store and follow the directions.

If you want a quick fix, You may be able to find a matching scratch fix marker at your local hardware store. They are like pens. They only mask the color difference and make it seem like there isn't a scratch.
