I have used regular powdered Tang (the NASA orange drink) to both clean and freshen dishwashers. I am a REALTOR and have helped many "sellers" make their dishwasher like new. The white plastic tubs can get really stained with hard water...even to a dark brown and the build up smells. For a mild problem, you only have to fill the two cups in the door and run a regular cylcle in empty dishwasher. For a particularly bad case, I've used an entire canister with perfect results after one try. I guess it's the citric acid...but, I had someone try with Countrytime Lemonade mix, since they had it on hand with less successful results. Good luck!
Pour baking soda in the drain.
Its about 80% likely depending on what dishwasher you have but it doesnt hurt to try once.
The disposal has to be in place so that the drain on the dishwasher is connected. If you do not have a disposal or are removing it, there is a extension tube for the drain that has the dishwasher tube in it. The disposal does not have to work for the dishwasher to drain. The water is run through the disposal so that any food particles get ground before going in the drain. After a while, the disposal will begin to smell if it is not run.

LG LDF7932ST Dishwasher - Stainless Steel is the dishwasher consumes the least amount of water
Yes. Dishwasher Tablets do dissolve in water, but they take a bit of time.
You can, but it would render the dishwasher useless for cleaning.
The problem is the solinoid valve in the dishwasher Pay your water bill
Your dishwasher may have a leak. Look under it with a flashlight just after it's finished a wash.
No it isn't! Just mix the dishwasher gel with a certain amount of water and thats it!
The pump in the dishwasher should keep the water from getting into it.
my Bosch SHU4300 dishwasher does not have HOT water anymore. Is there an element in there?
