OK, DID MINE LAST WEEK IT TOOK A CROW BAR AND A TORCH LEAVE IN 2 OF THE 4 BOLTS THAT HOLD THE PULLY TO THE WATOR PUMP & TAKE THE BATTERY OUT USE A LARGE CROW BAR ( MINE IS 4 FEET LONG WITH A,( J )ON ONE END JAM THE BAR BETWEEN ONE OF THE BOLTS AND THAT DAMNED CLUTCH FAN NUT HEAT THE CLUTCH FAN NUT WITH A TORCH AND BEAT YOUR WRENCH WITH A BIG HAMMER TO KNOCK IT LOOSE ( REAL PAIN ) OR BUY A $150.00 TOOL FROM CHEVROLET!!!!!

chilton book on s10 1997/98 chev y pickup tells one to remove three bolt pulley not the fan pulley lo and behold there is a water pump remove four bolts behind the pulley the waterpump is jusy an impellar. the hoses go into the block.very unusual installation.it is not a stupid question to ask for this waterpump installation as suggested by chevyb expert.
