It is impossible to rush someone's emotions. The best thing you can do is be patient and continue being good friends. If this relationship is meant to go further it will, and if not perhaps with luck, you will remain good friends and even after you go your separate ways. Yes, it is a risk, but one I feel anyone should take so they don't waste one precious moment of life.

I agree with you on being patient but we have been dating for about a year and we are still at the same point. She sees other people as do I. WE both get jealous and it drives me nuts but this is what she wants so you are right, there is nothing i can do but wait until i get sick of it or find someone else to spend time with.
If she is not able to be exclusive then leave her alone until she is ready.
Be patient. You can only damage the relationship if you try to force her into it. Just try to be the best friend you can until she's ready.

No, not weird at all. For a proper sexual relationship, both parties must be ready and comfortable. Despite the stereotypes, this applies to men as well as women. When the man in question is ready and comfortable, then he will have sex with your friend (as long as your friend is ready and comfortable too) if they both want to. There is no point rushing these things.
