Just be yourself. Go up and talk to him, hang out, and act normal. Don't rush into asking him out, take your time, but don't take to long because then someone else might get him. I know that most of the time this works because I did that and ended up dating the most popular guy in school that all girls wanted.

It might be she has a crush on the boy she first hugged and it took her some mental work (as in overcoming) to do that. When she did it she blushed and as an excuse to hide that she has a crush she hugged everyone else around too.
