To get to the Nepal side of Mount Everest you get a plane from Kathmandu to Lukla, then you walk to Base Camp which takes around 10 to 14 days.

To get to the Tibet side of Mount Everest you get a plane from Kathmandu to Lhasa, then you go by car/Jeep to Base Camp.
