1 year is sufficient time to prepare for IITs. Dictating the number of hours without knowing your level of Preparations is very difficult. Typically top 100 rankers have been found to study 16 hours a day.
Focusiing on your fundamentals is the key and you have to clear all the fundamentals and decide how much time you need to do that.

You should get a rank between 400 to 600.
With a rank 94, there is no IIt which wouldn't give you admission. You ca get the stream and IIT of your choice
NO. There is not IIT JEE prelims. Now two exams are conducted, JEE Main (earliear AIEEE) and JEE Advanced (earliear IIT JEE). Only top 150000 candidates of JEE Main are eligibile for JEE Advanced. So JEE Main is just an eligibility test for JEE Advanced.
