On Tuesday, November 18, Facebook reported a bug in their system that autodetects spammer profiles. As a result, many regular users' accounts were wrongfully disabled and users received a message prompting them for a copy of their photo ID for accounts to be activated again. Facebook reported that this affected a small set of users and those accounts which were disabled incorrectly can be reactivated by visited the Facebook help page.
