How do you get your ex-husband to pay you back the balance he transfered to your credit card while you were married and that you already paid? |
Answer
The issue is debt between your ex-husband and you. The credit card is only the form of that debt.
Other than requesting the money from him, you can sue him in civil or small claims court. If you are granted a judgment, the same options would become available to you as any other plaintiff. You would be able to garnish wages, place liens against any real property or attach bank accounts. Details would depend upon your state's laws regarding these matters.
