If you love him, leave him alone and let him be happy with his new girl. If the two of you were made for each other, you would be together now, rather than being the ex-girlfriend. If you attempt to come between him and his new girlfriend you will only give him reason to resent you.
If he and his girlfriend eventually separate, then you can attempt to win him over again. Then will be the time to prove you are worthy to be with him. In my profession (Psychology), I witness situations like this every day, and I have noticed that interference from an ex-lover almost always ends with disaster.
