If he has never spoken, it may be that he is not going to. But you can encourage him to try by saying things to him and holding objects, saying what they are, then asking him to say it. Sing to him, read to him, do things you'd do with any other child when trying to teach them to talk, but be very patient with him. It may be he will have to use an alternate form of communication such as sign language or a communication board. You can ask his doctor if he can be put in some kind of speech therapy class or special needs class that will help him develop a method of communication if possible. If he is in such a class, perhaps they can give you tips on encouraging him to communicate.
