you need to first wipe up the blood . next put neosprine on it . cover it with band-aids or gauzes dependiing on the size.after a few days it should heal . uncover it so it can breathe. in order for it to heal you have to leave it alone which means dont pick at it or peel off the scab. .FIN.

If it is actively bleeding, apply pressure, bandage, and go to the ER. If it is not actively bleeding, rinse it with sterile saline, bandage it, and go see a healthcare provider to get it closed.

You go to the urgent care center or the emergency room and have it stitched by a doctor.

If you are on a survival TV show, you would put direct pressure on the cut until the bleeding stops. Spider webs can also be put on the wound, they can help stop bleeding in dire circumstances away from civilization. You should have medical supplies in a first aid kit. Always be prepared and don't even think about going into the wilderness or on a survival TV show without a first aid kit and training in first aid.

If you lost the kit when you fell into the lake, then improvise with what you have on hand MacGyver-style. If the cut is short and deep (or a puncture wound) and you have the high risk for infection since you were not able to clean the cut, then it is best to not close it up or an abscess may form in the bottom. You may need to pack the wound with pieces of fabric torn from your clothing. If it is not a deep puncture type of wound, then superglue could be used to close the cut. Or strips of tape, such as Duct Tape could be cut very thin and put at right angles to the cut and pull the sides together and hold them in place with the strips across the cut. If you are in a real survival situation and not drama for TV, then sewing with needle and thread might be something to consider. Some survival kits even include these for sterile use.

The best way to clean a cut, scrape or puncture wound (such as a wound from a nail) is with cool water. You can hold the wound under running water or fill a tub with cool water and pour it from a cup over the wound.

Use soap and a soft washcloth to clean the skin around the wound. Try to keep soap out of the wound itself because soap can cause irritation. Use tweezers that have been cleaned in isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to remove any dirt that remains in the wound after washing.

Even though it may seem that you should use a stronger cleansing solution (such as hydrogen peroxide or iodine), these things may irritate wounds. If you strongly feel that you must use a stronger solution, consult your docter.

A deep wound is likely heal by what process?

There are many ways for you to clean the cut and make it heal faster. You need to wash your wound with soap and water. After use peroxide to help it clean up the rest of it, after it stops bubbling rince it off and pat till dry. You can use antibiotic ointment, or vaseline. Also to help it prevent from getting infected I suggest you put a bandage on your wound. Hope this helps :)

How do you apply a quick clot?

Unroll the quick clot gauze and apply as much as you need to the wound. Save the rest of the unused roll. There is a quick clot that comes in powder form and if you have that type you have to sprinkle it onto the wound until the blood clots then you have to apply a pressure bandage or sterile gauze on the wound ... not all militaries use that type of quick clot. Be certain not to get your bare hands or other germs in the wound before you use the quick clot. Douse the wound with water to clean out any debris BEFORE you use it if you have water available.

Why it is important to use bandages that are as clean as possible?

When bandaging a wound, the site of the wound is a path into the body for dirt and accompanying bacteria which may cause infections. Thus when bandaging a wound the bandage must be absolutely clean and sterile so that it does not bring bacteria to the wound it is meant to be protecting..

Will applying rubbing alcohol to a horse wound help them?

It will clean the wound but I wouldn't recommend using it if you don't want the horse to freak out. Instead use warm water and soap to clean the wound thoroughly. Then apply a topical antibiotic (such as plain old Neosporin or animal grade Nitrofurizone) to help in healing and prevent infection. You may want to cover the wound with Wonderdust to help in healing and prevent proudflesh. If the wound is deep and on the leg it can be wrapped in VetWrap to keep it clean as well. If you do not wrap the wound make sure you use fly spray to keep flys or bugs from entering the wound.

If you cut off your finger but it stops bleeding should you still go to the hospital?

Yes, they can perform things to make sure it is not infected. And if you managed to put the finger on ice quickly, they can re-attach it. Absolutly, depending on how clean the cut is they may be able to re attach it. Also you risk severe infection without medical attention. Depends on how deep the cut is. Make sure that you clean your wound ASAP with peroxide or Hibiclens. Use an antibiotic ointment after thoroughly cleansing the wound. Bandage it with sterile bandage. If the cut is deep, you may need stitches and need to go to the hospital. In any case, keep it clean. Watch for infection--redness, swelling, pus, pain etc. Follow up with your MD. You may need to be looked at and antibiotics given if the MD feels it is necessary. Depends on how deep the cut is. Make sure that you clean your wound ASAP with peroxide or Hibiclens.
