Thoroughly vacuum and dust your entire house. Your cat possibly has Allergies just like humans ... at least that is how our cats react to pollen and dust. Carefully rinse and wash the area with a saline solution (like contact lens cleaner). Probably since it is green, you should visit the vet for antibiotics.

∙ 15y agoIf your cat will allow you, very gently clean up the area around the eye with a soft cloth and luke-warm water. It may not be an infection at all, just where the cat got into something. If it last more than a day or so, then the cat should be seen by a professional. Take him/her to a vet. If an actual eye infection is left untreated it could cause permanent damage to the cat's vision. The vet will most likely prescribe a simple and inexpensive ointment to apply to the cat's eye a couple of times a day for several days. _________________ If your cat is uncomfortable it mightn't allow you near its eyes. If you are able to clean the eyes it is essential to ensure both cloth and water are sterile, or you run the risk of introducing infection to what might possibly be an irritated though unifected area. If the infection, or symptoms, are still persisting, you need to see a vet very soon. The vet will give you tips on administering medication to a reluctant cat. In a home situation this could need two people! _________________
