It really depends on the type of filter and pump arrangement you have.

Generally, a hose would connect from the skimmer of the pool ( the round box on the pool wall - most pools) to the suction side of the pump (the virtical part with the basket inside)(the one with the motor attached); then, from the outlet or discharge side (usually just above the motor) to the filter inlet. From the filter outlet back to the pool return wall fitting or eyeball.

A pool filter is fairly easy to hook up. If you look at the filter there should be an out tube and an in tube. In will be higher up on the filter and the out will be down lower. You should have some flex tubing with your filter. Connect the tubing to each tube on the filter. Now look at the pool, there should also be two holes on the side of the pool, one slightly higher than the other. The "out" hole should have a cover on it and the "in" hole won't. Connect the matching tubes and then prime your filter. (Take the top knob off until it begins to fill with water and circulate through the tubing.) It should work just fine!

Can you hook up two pool filters back-to-back to increase efficiency?

Wouldn't it be better to simply buy ONE more efficient pump rather than having two? My neighbor does have one pump for the automatic vacuum and one pump for general filtering. He did, however, have these put in when the pool was installed.

Is it normal for the pool pump to fill up with water while the pool is still filling up?

Certainly, if the pump is running. The primary pump intake is the main drain at the deepest part of the pool.

How can you make a one and a quarter inch inlet and outlet on an intex pool two inches so you can hook up a regular pool pump and filter?

Yes. If it's PVC, just go to the local HW store and buy the adapter components required, primer and glue. The pressure will be fine, what do you have to lose to try it assuming you already have the pump?

Swimming pool pump that works fine However when you hook up the vacuum to it it loses its pressure and suction Is it that the pump is just to old?

Possible causes: holes, cracks in vac hose - bad lid o-ring on pump - pump seal leaking - cracked pump lid or housing - pump basket full of debris - cracked or broken plumbing between the pump and the skimmer/vac hose connector.

What would a Polaris 280 be used for?

A Polaris 280 is a pool cleaner. It is an automatic in ground pool cleaner that you plug in and hook up to a dedicated pressure line for easy pool maintenance.

Can an in ground pool slide be used for an above ground pool?

Generally...no. In simplest terms, an above ground pool pump is a flooded suction pump, which means the water level must be higher than the pump for it to operate, and an inground pump has the ability to draw water up from a level lower than the pump. The engineering and structure of these two different types of pumps is what makes them work the way they do. This means that, in a typical installation, you could use an inground-specific pump on an above ground pool, but not an above ground pump on an inground pool with the water level below the pump.
