1. Get rid of the television set. 2. Make time to read more will increase your information awareness - the first book to read must be a time management book to loose all your wasted time and give you extra time. 3. Attention span is a little more difficult and is all about getting into the 'zone' (concentrating so much that you forget everything else that is happening around you). this is different for every person, so there is no single answer, however you could try some making work a little more fun (e.g. read Gamestorming by David Gray, Sunni Brown, James Macanufo), meditation that helps you concentrate on one thought, timing - it is the best time of the day to do a task, perhaps it is better to do it later or earlier, use your hands as blinkers to stop being distracted, develop the art of really looking at something and focus (e.g. as if it is the first time you have ever seen it, or the last time you will ever see it, really look at the colour, the texture, if it has a smell, imagine it as another colour, imagine looking down on it from a great height etc).
