Forget SP1. Install SP2 which contains all the updates in SP1. Do not download! Order the free SP2 CD from Microsoft. To stop any program from running, right click the task bar at the bottom of your screen. Select Task Manager, click the applications tab and shut down all running programs.

I don't see why you would get CD and not download. download is free CD is not. that shouldn't be a problem really. If u get the latest sp it includes the previous one as well and you shoud stop whatever is interfeering with the install.
