you need to run a power wire from youre battery to youre amp.then run a gound.you also need to run the remote wire from youre radio this will make youre amp turn on.then just run youre rca jacks/or speaker wires to amp.then run the outs to speakers that's it.

run a power wire from the battery to the amp, put a fuse no farther than 8 inches away from when you attached the power to the battery. run another wire wire the same gage as your power line to a unpainted, sanded metal bold for your ground wire. find the remote or power antena wire coming from your desk and run a wire from that to the remote on you amp so it will turn on when your deck turns on. run RCAs from you decks line out into your amp and then normal speaker wire from the amp to you speakers you want to power. make sure you store your amp in an area in the car that stay cool so it doesn't overheat in the summer

Make sure to secure the amp with whatever hardware is provided . also be sure to use the correct size power and ground wire. if it is a factory deck that u are installing the amp on your remote power will be th power antenna if eqquipped if not i would recomend installing a grounded inline remote switch it seems to eliminate ground noise u can get by tieing inti the acc on the factory deck. if u don't have rca outs .Hi-Lo converters and Line-out converters that allow you to add an aftermarket amplifier (orRCA outputs) to a factory radio.

You can but in my experience it's not going to change the sound much. It's better if you add both items to your system.

How do you hook two subs up to one amp?

It depends on the impedance of the subs, whether they are single- or double-voicecoil (SVC or DVC), and the rated output impedance of the amp. If you've got two 8-ohm SVC subs and your amp is rated for a 4-ohm load, then you can put them in parallel. If you've got two 4-ohm SVC subs and your amp is only rated for a 4-ohm load, then you'll have to put them in series, even though you won't be able to extract maximum power from the amp. With DVC subs, you've got more flexibility to get an efficient match. In any case, you have to pay attention to polarity.

If you put more amps to your sub will it hit harder?

yes say you have a 10" kicker sub that needs 250 watts to hit and you have a 1000 watt kicker amp you have to much power going into that sub so it will hit harder. BUT if you but more subs and your amp has a few channels you can send the right amount of power to the subs without risking damage. i have 2 12"kickers with a 1000 watt amp so i have to much power but my subs sound amazing so do what you want most subs are $80-180 HAVE FUN

Why are your subs in your car not working properly?

I have a Kenwood dpx306u headunit in my car. My subs worked fine before but now they barely hit. I havent even touched them. I reset my headunit and nothing. Also, my headunit is no longer displaying my subwoofer setting. The light on my amp is green. I did just have a new battery put in my car and dont know if that would have anything to do with it. What can i do?

Stereo amp or mono amp for your sub?

Most preamps just have a mono output for a subwoofer. No real reason to run stereo for subs, unless maybe you are running two speaker boxes as subs. Most amps are switchable to mono mode and put out more power in mono. Hope this helps.

How do you wire sub-woofers and amplifiers into a 2001 Grand Am?

I recently installed a pair of 12" Infinity subwoofers in my 2000 Gramd AM. I ran the power wire from the battery on the driver's side of the car to the amp. I ran the audio wires and the antenna wireon the passenger side of the car. You should put the wires on opposite sides of the car, to reduce static that can be caused from the electromagnetic field produced by the large amount of power running through the power wire. Hook up the audio wires, antenna wire, and power wire to the amp. Then all you have to do is connect your amp to your subs. GrandAMMAn

Are insignia subwoofers good?

They arent the best subs out there but I just put them in my car and for the money you can build a bumping system around them. I got 2 12" insignia subbs and an insignia 500w amp, put it in 2 days ago and Im really impressed. They are actaully made by power acoustik, they are the best for the money, a good investment.
