For round fender 110. To remove \ replace drive belt that has slipped off. Remove 2 of the 3 bolts from large pulley on transmission right side. This will allow enough access to slip belt onto pulley. Replace bolts.
All manufacturers do it differently but you need to locate the belt routing diagram which for the most part is somewhere on the deck or under the seat, otherwise you need to look in the owners manual.
Route the belt through all the stationary pulleys saving the idler ( moveable or has spring tension ) pulley for last. Move the pulley to a position where the belt can be placed in position and release.
Does not list your model per se, but the 38" deck is correct at JD Answer Center. Pictures are available at OPE by Crigby link. Both are below.
Quiite dependent on the brand, and sometimes the model.
Very carefully.
You will need to order a manual on the mower from the manufacturer (I assume Simplicity).
As your sitting on your mower look down on your left side on the deck is a metal arm locked under a hook get off the mower push down on the arm and pull out toward the rear tire this loosens the rear pulley now put belt over the top front pulley and over the rear pulley move metal arm back to hook and lock in place then your done.
Changing the deck belt on the Huskee IT4200 lawn mower involves working around the spring and 2 belt drive guides in the motor area. Properly loading the spring before the guides is the secret to success.
I have the information if you want to give me a call. 989-871-4227
I have Murray 42" cut riding mower that the belt came off. How do I put the belt back on?
When working on a lawn mower, always make sure it is turned off, the spark plug is disconnected and the positive battery terminal is unhooked for your safety. First remover the belt keepers from around the belt. Next, you will be able to remove the belt from around the front pulley. Remover the deck from the mower by removing all the pins that keep it attached. You will now be able to remove the outer deck covers and loosen the remaining pulleys. Now you will be able to remove the belt and put the new belt on. You are ready to put the mower back together.
usually it is because it has either stretched, wrong size belt, or when it was put back on it didn't get routed properly through the guides that help hold in in place when it is disengaged
Yes, it just won't cut as wide.
I'm not sure but I'm having the same problem. Someone please answer this!
Remove the mower deck by the quick disconnect latched and the front bracket, and the lift linkage ARM and take the belt off the engine pulley and leave with the mower deck. Remove the mower deck plastic guard to access the timing belt. Loosen the bolts on the right side tensioner bracket and back off the tensioner adjustment bolt all the way. The timing belt can now be removed. The center forward guide pulley can be removed to make it easier to reinstall the new belt. O had to remove the brake and the top pulley from the left deck blade pulley to get the new timing belt on. Put the new belt on with the blades 90 deg from each other. I set my tensioner tight now that I have the lawn defined and no more pioneering. If you hit an object the timing may slip and the tensioner has to loosened to get the 90 deg back.
Park the mower on a level surface preferably concrete apply the park brake and drop the deck to the ground When refered The LHS and RHS of the mower is as you sit on it remove the cutting deck first pull the silver pins at the back of the deck towards you so the rear of the deck is free there is a pin on the lhs and one on the rhs There is a idler bearing adjusting arm on the deck from the lhs pull it toward you this will loosen the belt so it can be removed from the engine pulley There is also a steel rod that may need to be adjusted under the engine pulley it can be adjusted from the rhs by pushing it tward the pulley Then manover the deck forward pushing the front deck locating down then up then slide the deck out to the rhs fit the deck belt as per the manufacturers instruction either on the mower or in your book this belt is different for the 42" and 46" decks Push the seat forward then disconnect the battery and remove the battery box Under the mower on the rhs is a tension spring holding the adjester rod for the upper small belt disconnet it from the chassis by pulling it forward and out remove the small belt through the battery box The main drive belt will be loose to get it off you need to disconnect the electrical plug at the front engine pulley on the rhs and undo the puley bolt from under the mower Reconnect in the reverse order
As it is made from the factory, you must remove the deck. Remove the four nuts that hold the belt guards on, unclip the four fasteners. Remove the two nuts on the top of the deck toward the front, that hold the bracket for the gearbox. Loosen the two at the back lower side of the bracket. Raise the bracket up enough to get the belt out. To install just go in reverse. One thing to remember is after the belt is on, to set the small lower isolator that slides out to the tension pulley. This keeps the idler pulley from backing off enough to let the belt come off the pulleys, when the PTO stops suddenly. ALSO, if the belt comes off, the deck has to be removed to just put the belt back on the pulleys. I took my belt guards off and cut the slots out to the end so the cover it can be removed from above. Now to change, i lower the deck, unlatch the linkage, loosen the four nuts remove the guards. Put the belt back on, without removing the deck!!!
