How do you install a geneve movement in a watch?

I checked with a jeweler and he said that you pull the stem out and that releases the crown where the battery can be accessed....he advised to let a jeweler do it.

Japanese movement watches are a good quality, but over-all a Swiss movement is the best. Some good Japanese mechanical watch brands are Citizen and SEIKO.

The case and the back should be able to be separated by a sharp instrument and twisting carefully.

It would be somewhat odd for there to be any gold in a watch movement. Gold is a soft metal, making it a bad choice for constructing any kind of mechanical device.
