Limera1n is buggy and is not recommended but if greenp0ison doesn't work, it is your only alternative. Beware of imitations that contain viruses. A permanent jailbreak is a jailbreak that won't break if you update your ipod's software. Both jailbreaks are tethered meaning that your ipod has to be connected to a computer. Im almost positive that iphone cannot be restored to 4.2.1 because its not compatable, this is consittering that iPhone 4 has a ios 4.2.6 acustom to factory settings. But if this is possible im sure you could use greenpoison. Or snowbreeze with ipsw file of 4.2.1 to make coustom restore + jailbreak. And it wont mess with baseband

You can jailbreak using redsn0w but cydia won't be there until 4.2 is released to the public.

There IS currently an untethered jailbreak for the iPad 4.2, however it is very long, hard and risky. I would wait for an easier jailbreak! :)
