It is a common misconception that in Freemasonary you are asked to join, you don't volunteer. In fact, you can only join a Masonic lodge if you do volunteer. But you will have to locate someone to ask. In Tanzania there is St. Andrew's Lodge under the Scottish Constitution, and a number of Lodges under the English Constitution, all in Dar. And also there are lodges in Tanga, Moshi and Arusha. Be aware that membership is not automatic, and the Lodge may reject your application for membership. With some Lodges, an interested person must show continued interest even after being rebuffed before he is accepted.
In Tanzania, like anywhere else, you need to know someone who is a freemason and be recommended by him in order to join. Many people imagine that freemasonry is a ticket to success; it is not; success is a ticket to freemasonry.

In addition to the very good information listed above, you should understand that you will need to ask to become a Freemason. You will never be asked- YOU must ask. Of course, if you don't want to join, you will never be pressured to do so.
All you have to do to be a Freemason is ask a Freemason to join the Lodge. You will need to find the nearest Lodge to where you live (there are 9 Lodges in Tanzania).
To become a Freemason, find a Freemason and tell him you would like to join. Look in the phone book for a Lodge if you do not know a Freemason. Freemasons have a slogan, to be one ask one.
