answer
with child sitting on seat, one pedal down, the child should be able to put one foot flat on the ground with leg being nearly straight, and other foot on the up pedal,
Answer
Good question. All you have to do is get the child to sit on the seat of the bike and see if when the pedal is down if their leg is almost fully extended, in regards of the height of the handle bar, whatever is most comfortable for the child.
Answer
Also, don't forget to make sure that
- one foot can reach the ground, when they are sitting on the seat (I've seen kids hopping with one foot on the grount, almost falling off, because their seat was too high).
- if it's a boy's frame, they can stand astride the top tube, and there's an inch or two between the tube and their inseam top (i.e. family jewel). Otherwise, they jump off their seat, and OWWW!
- when on the seat, sitting upright, with one pedal all the way down, that leg should be extended, with the knee slightly bent. That leg should '''not''' be straight out, else the seat is too high.
