How do you keep a window active when it is minimized?

[Edit]

Answer

It is a very general question for a problem that has many answers. Well, programs that you would like to run in the background need to have an option somewhere in their configuration menu or options menu in order to change whether it will be active or not while the window itself is inactive. As far as I know, the only way you can change this manually is for you to be a programmer and do this yourself somehow (I am learning, but I have no idea as of now). So, depending on what program it is you want to run while inactive, you need to look through the configuration/options files, looking for options such as "Pause program while inactive?". That's about it, though.
