Some ways is to use salt, styrofoam from coffe, vaccum flasks, aluminum foil, or even a blanket!! (trust me, I've read that in a book, and it made sense.)
the only way i would know is to put the ice cream container into a plastic bag, fill that bag with snow and salt. but the snow would melt withing half an hour, so i guess that's not much use really.
Insulate it as much as possible from heat sources, the more layers of insulating material used the better. I think the more layers of insulation and a contaor it could probley work.
