BLOOD MEAL works very well. Just purchase it from you garden center. Sprinkle a little around the area, and your problem should go away. You will have to repeat the processe if it rains.

You might like to try Cayenne Pepper too.

Based on my experience you have three choices: (1) get steel cans and keep them covered; (2) catch and relocate the squirrels; or (3) kill them. If you decide to relocate them, make sure you bring them, at minimum, seven miles away driving a zig zag path or else they can find their way back. Even this is no guarantee they will not return but the farther away you bring them and the more zig zag you make the route, the greater the probability is that they will not be able to find their way home again.
