If it has a nest inside of a hollow post on your porch, it is not likely to be a honey bee, unless you are seeing a great many of them going in and out of that post. If it is very large (like, the size of your thumb) it is a carpenter bee. If not, it could be a variety of other bees or wasps.
If the post is sound except for where the bee is entering it, devise something to plug the hole. Then, wait until deep twilight, and with a commercial "Bee and Wasp Killer" spray, spray into the opening for ten-fifteen seconds, then immediately plug the opening. Leave the pug in place until next morning, then seal it permanently.
